Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. The son of Manny James, and Patty James of mixed race. He is the son of a Nigerian father as well as a Caucasian mother. James graduated in 2010 at Sanderson High School. In 2015, he received an undergraduate degree in Economics at Wake Forest University. James was a household name after he appeared on screen for his debut as a reality star during The Bachelorette. In the year 2020, he was selected to be the new bachelor on The Bachelor's season 25, making him his only African American male lead which then aired on the show in 2021. James is a great fit to the job because his height is tall, handsome and well-rounded and has a good sense of comedy. Rachael Krkconnell was picked as James' partner for this season. In season 30, (in 2021) of Dancing with the Stars, James competed alongside dancer Arnold. James as well as Arnold were ranked 12th.
